There are some intersections in Battle Creek where a red light lasts so long, you might think that you could squeeze in a nap before it turns green. We doubt that was the case for a Battle Creek man who was found sleeping inside his vehicle at an intersection in the city early Monday morning.

According to the Battle Creek Police Department, officers were called to the intersection of Dickman Road and Clark Road at around 2:15 am. They had received reports that a vehicle had been stopped at a traffic light for twenty minutes. When they arrived, they discovered a man sleeping inside.

After being awakened by the officers, the 23-year-old man ended up getting arrested on a warrant for a parole violation. His name has not been released. It does not appear, and there are no reports from authorities, that drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the incident.
