The Battle Creek Fire Marshal is investigating, after a large fire started at a local home.

The Battle Creek Fire Department  responded to the first block of Magnolia Ave. around 5pm Tuesday, to find a two story home with visible flames and smoke from the windows. Firefighters worked quickly to douse the blaze, and were able to put the fire out before it spread to neighboring houses.

Still, around $70,000 in damage was done.

One firefighter was injured after a ceiling fell onto him; he was treated and released from the hospital.  The cause of the fire is being looked into.
