Police in Battle Creek say a man died early Wednesday after being brutally attacked at a residence in the city.

Officers received a call around 6:15 Tuesday evening about a 33-year-old male who had been badly injured. They did not indicate who the call came from. Police arrived at the residence located on Spring St. and found the victim suffering from extensive injuries. The man had numerous wounds to his face and head. Investigators have not indicated what weapons or objects may have been used in the attack.

Brouse was transported by ambulance to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital for treatment. But he later succumbed to his injuries in the early morning hours on Wednesday. The deceased victim has been identified as Ryan Brouse. No information about a suspect is available at this time or what the motive in the attack may have been.

Battle Creek Police are still investigating this incident, and no further information is being released at this time.
