Grand Rapids and St. Joseph, Michigan Named As Best Places To Die
When it's time to get your affairs in order and meet your maker, you don't have to go far in Michigan to find one of the best places to pass away.
First, we're not talking about the most dangerous cities- places where you are likely to be killed. We're talking about the end of a life; death from natural causes or terminal disease. Research published by The Washington Post shows "most people want to die at home, but many land in hospitals getting unwanted care." Researchers looked at the utilization of hospice and palliative care as part of seven metrics used to rank cities on end of life care quality. Three of the top 10 are in Michigan.
