A jury has found former Michigan State University basketball star Mateen Cleaves not guilty on all counts in a sexual assault trial. The former Spartan exited the courthouse along with his attorney to supporters and media.

He had been charged in 2016 with four felony counts, including three counts of criminal sexual conduct and unlawful imprisonment. The incident in question took place in September 2015, when a woman claimed Cleaves sexually assaulted her in Mundy Township at the Knights Inn.

A Genesee County jury reached the not guilty verdict today after a two-week trial. MSU coach Tom Izzo was in court today to show support for his former player.
