It's Western-Central Week. You already know what you need to know about CMU. But did you know the WMU Bronco football team, which has made its share of headlines over the past few years, has the oldest player in college football?Derrick Mitchell played both football and baseball at Paw Paw and he was real good at both, but chose to play professional baseball after graduation in 2005. Drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies, he bounced around the minor leagues for almost a decade, but finally called it a career after an injury.

But he wanted a degree and still had a ton of competitive left in him. So he walked on at Western and is the team's punter. But you don't see many 30 year olds in college football.

Mitchell got some attention during the Broncos' Cotton Bowl season, but now he's 30 years. Ancient by college football standards, where some players are barely old enough to vote.

ESPN.com did a feature on him this week.
