Downtown Kalamazoo Egyptian Restaurant ‘Cairo’s Kitchen’ Opening July 26th
The long awaited arrival for the new Egyptian food style restaurant in Downtown Kalamazoo, 'Cairo's Kitchen,' is set to open Monday July 26th, according to their website. Late in 2020 the family put up signage at the building located in The Exchange Building at 155 W Michigan Ave Suite 1D, Kalamazoo MI 49007. However they are fully prepared to bring a new eating experience to Downtown Kalamazoo, as they made the official announcement on their website:
After over a year of preparation, we are excited to announce that we will be opening our first permanent restaurant inside the Exchange Building located in the heart of Downtown Kalamazoo, Michigan on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 10:00AM! Our new spot will be opening Monday through Saturday and feature a full menu of your all your favorites from our pop-up locations along with some fun and delicious specials we’ll be sharing for the first time.
The company also announced that they'll also be offering catering and will be open 6 days a week. First and 42 originally reported that the family had been slowly emigrating to Kalamazoo over the past decade, starting with the father, Aden, followed by siblings Ramy, Remonda and David, with the mother, Salwa making her way to the U.S. most recently.
Some of the Farmer's Market menu items highlighted are the Chicken or Beef Shawarma, Falafel Wrap, a Breakfast Wrap (For Morning Markets Only), and a Mango Kunafa, a baked shredded phyllo strings in homemade syrup topped with a homemade layer of whip cream and a layer of freshly diced mango.
