Pretty much the entire Democratic Party believes that government is the answer to all societal and some personal problems.  There are also some in the right that puts way too much faith in the government.

What happens when you call the government for help and they do not answer the phone?

What happens when you call the government at your greatest time of need and they do not answer the phone?

Let this following story be a warning to all of you who behold government as your savior. Especially all of you who want them to take over your healthcare and offer free healthcare to everyone in the world who can lay a finger on our territory.

A local Chicago CBS affiliate is reporting about a woman who called Chicago’s 911 twice and no one answered the call.  As I asked above; What happens when you call the government at your greatest time of need and they do not answer the phone?

She called Chicago’s 911 because her ex-husband came to her home and she was concerned and thought she needed police intervention.

She was quoted in the article stating:

Nobody answered the phone, six or seven times, I believe. And I waited a few minutes and I tried them again – same thing...it enraged me

When asked about the situation a representative from the Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications said that at the time that she called there was a high call volume, but they would have eventually answered it if she did not hang up.

Well that is nice to know that in what could be a person’s greatest time of need they would have eventually answered it.

They then made what I find to be a very curious statement as the article stated:

Staying on the line would also trigger a call back, which does not happen if a caller hangs up first.

Can anyone help me figure this one out?

Why would you need a call back if you stayed on the line?

You would think that you would definitely need a call back on a hang up, what if someone had to hang up due to the circumstances.
