While Michigan happens to sit North enough to not always be in the direct path of “Tornado Alley”, we are no stranger to experiencing tornadoes. Perhaps the most dangerous thing about tornadoes is the fact that they can range in severity. Like earthquakes, tornadoes don’t have a constant size, wind speed, movement, etc. Meaning the amount of destruction to people's lives always varies.
What many people may not know about the Kalamazoo/Portage area is the fact that we were on our way to becoming the Mall capital of Michigan. During the 80’s Kalamazoo had a minimum of 4 malls. Today, there is only one. Is the Crossroads Mall going to be the exception, or will it too join these abandoned and demolished malls of Kalamazoo’s past?

Most people who are regularly outdoors know the simplest task you can do to really appreciate the gorgeous nature you’re in, is to take everything you bring outdoors back with you when you leave. Picking up after yourself should be simple enough, but Kalamazoo seems to have a crappier problem on their hands.
