The perfect season for The Colon Magi football team has ended with a Division 1 State Championship against the also undefeated Suttons Bay Norseman. Both teams entered the game having gone undefeated during the regular season. This championship comes 30 years since Colon's last state championship, when their baseball team won the Class D state title. The 4th quarter of this game was full of thrills and stunning play from the Magi.

Highlighting the 4th quarter was a 96-yard rushing touchdown which put Colon ahead 26-14 (the two point conversion was not converted). The following three drives by Suttons Bay were cut short by 3 consecutive interceptions by the Magi, deep within their territory. Able to dwindle down the clock, the Norseman continued to attempt to apply pressure, with minutes left in the game. The Magi defense stepped up for a large sack which put Suttons Bay out of the game, when the 4th down pass was blocked. Congratulations to Colon Magi for bringing a state title to Southwest Michigan.
