Cruise Ships Will Set Sail on the Great Lakes Beginning in 2022
Eight and thirteen day expeditions are booking now for luxury cruises aboard Viking's new fleet to sail the Great Lakes.
We know that the Vikings were in America long before Christopher Columbus "discovered" it. Some say the seafaring warriors may even have sailed the Great Lakes. The Viking name returns to the freshwaters as Viking cruise line prepares to launch on the Great Lakes beginning in January 2022.
Two new ships, Viking Octantis and Viking Polaris will soon be added to the fleet and pioneer new routes with a Great Lakes cruise and Antarctica cruise booking now for approximately $6,000-$9,000 per guest. Each vessel is 665' long with a 77' beam, with room for 378 guests. Six decks have ample room for guests to frolic in the pools, at the bar, on observation decks, or venture away from the ship on a Zodiac inflatable boat or one of two six-passenger submarines. Check out the plans and the amenities in the exploratory video below.
