Detroit Choir Wins Golden Buzzer On America’s Got Talent
I love it when we see someone from Michigan featured on a national television show. It's even better when it's a group of kids. That's what happened last night for a group of kids who are a part of a Detroit Youth Choir, on the show, America's Got Talent. Not only did they bring judge, and Western Michigan University Alumni, Terry Crews to tears, but they also received the "Golden Buzzer," to send the choir to a future "live" episode.
With tears in his eyes, Crews expressed to the children: "Every man and woman on this stage represents me and where I came from. I remember sitting at my window in Flint, Michigan, dreaming about wanting to make it and wanting to be here – and they are here." The Detroit Youth Choir performed a high-energy rendition of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Can't Hold Us,"all while rapping and performing strong choreography. A choir has never won America's Got Talent in its 13 seasons, but even Simon Cowell seems to think they could be the first, saying: "If you keep doing this, where every performance is the last thing you would expect a choir to do, you could win this."
Good luck not getting choked up.
