Detroit Tigers Announce Spring Training Schedule For 2017
The Detroit Tigers barely missed the playoffs this past season. Fans are already thinking ahead to next year. The team recently announced their schedule for spring training 2017.
According to The Detroit News, the games begin on February 23rd with their annual game against Florida Southern. Baltimore will be in Lakeland the next day. Other matchups through March include, Yankees on March 4th and 17th, Mets on March 12th and 20th and Toronto on March 10th and 26th.
This will be the Tigers 81st consecutive year in Lakeland, Florida. It will be their first year playing in the newly renovated Joker Marchant Stadium which will now be known as Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium.
Some of the new upgrades include a new scoreboard and video display, covered sections, rebuilt concession stands. There have also been some upgrades of the facilities for the team.
