It seems like we are becoming a society that is turning more and more to mind altering drugs, the question is why?

Yesterday it became legal here in Michigan to buy marijuana for purely recreational use. To be able to buy the drug people actually put on their warmest winter clothes and camped overnight in a tent outside of one of the few places in Michigan that has a license to sell marijuana for recreational use.

One couple came up from Ohio to purchase their legal marijuana, they claim they were here vacationing or perhaps they came up to watch their Ohio State football team embarrass the U of M football team once again.

Per Michigan law these businesses customers can purchase up to 2.5 ounces of marijuana, including a maximum of 15 grams of marijuana concentrates.  For those of you who partake in the recreational use of marijuana Michigan law will allow you to keep up to 10 ounces of marijuana and grow up to 12 plants in their residence.

Back to the question I am asking and that is do we really want to add more recreational drugs to our society?  We already have alcohol and although I certainly understand that many people do not like the taste of alcohol and want to also alter their mind where will it end?

The question many people are asking is if you are going to legalize marijuana then why not any other drug?  It is a fair question so what do we say to those you wonder where will it all end and what does that mean to our society?
