Do You Use DoorDash? You May Have Been Affected By Their Data Breach
If you're one of the several million people who are too lazy to cook or leave the house and you get your food via DoorDash, your information may be at risk.
In a release from the company, they say they were the target of a data breach.
...an unauthorized third party accessed some DoorDash user data on May 4, 2019.
Although they have taken the steps to prevent this from happening, 4.9 million people were affected. This includes customers and merchants. The following information could have been taken:
- Names, e-mail address, phone numbers, addresses, order history, and passwords
- Last four digits of credit card numbers
- Last four digits of bank accounts
- The driver's license number of about 100K customers
Anyone who joined on or before April 5, 2018, are affected. Anyone who joined the service afterward is safe. DoorDash is contacting those who were impacted by the breach and what info was accessed of theirs.
In the meantime, the company has added even more security measures and brought "...in outside expertise to increase our ability to identify and repel threats."
People are encouraged to change their passwords and if you have any questions or concerns you can contact their call center 24/7 at 855–646–4683. FAQ's and more info can be found here.
