Driver Sought After High-Speed Chase in Union City

The Union City Police is looking for the driver that led an officer on a high-speed chase Wednesday night.

According to the Village of Union City’s Facebook page, an officer attempted to stop a vehicle on Broadway Street and M-60 on a traffic violation around 8:30pm when the driver sped off.

The chase went north on 8 Mile Road to O Drive South in Calhoun County, going through two open fields before crashing into trees off of O Drive South and 7 ½ Mile Road. The driver then fled on foot and could not be located by a K-9 unit from the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department. Authorities seized narcotics equipment inside the vehicle.
