There are plenty of songs about how hard it is to say goodbye. Elton John is living that right now. He's not quite ready to stop touring and performing. "Captain Fantastic's" fifty-plus year career is being celebrated with the global "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" tour, and it will stop in Detroit at Little Caesars Arena on May 1st and 2nd next year.

This is the second time this tour has stopped at LCA in the past couple of years. I guess the money's good and you get to do what you love.

According to the Detroit Free-Press, "tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Oct. 18 on the Elton John website.. A pre-sale for American Express cardholders will run 10 a.m. Thursday through 10 p.m. Monday." (Note: as of now, there are no corresponding Chicago dates, but, there's nothing scheduled after Detroit until June, 2020. Also, even though he played Wings Event Center in March of 2012, he's probably not coming back here to perform, either.)

John is a bucket-list artist, and he'll be 73 by the time he comes back to Detroit, so you may want to think hard, and pony up the money for the tickets; maybe even for the whole family.
