End of An Era; Bronson CEO Sardone Retiring

After thirty two years at Bronson Healthcare Group, including over twenty years as the chief executive, Frank Sardone has announced he is retiring as CEO of Bronson.

Sardone, who turns 62 later this year, will step down at the end of the year. A nationwide search is underway to find his replacement. He says he and his wife, Susan, plan to stay in the area and be active locally.

Under Sardone's leadership, the "new" Bronson Hospital was built in 2000, and in the later 2000's, Bronson was named one of the "100 Best" places to work by both Fortune Magazine and Working Mother magazine.

On it's website, Bronson Board Chair Donald R. Parfet says,

“Frank has been an exceptional leader to this organization, a great partner and collaborator in the region and, throughout his career at Bronson, he has always put the needs of patients and families at the forefront of decision-making. His visionary leadership has guided Bronson to become a nationally recognized leader in quality, patient care, facility design, and service excellence, as well as the largest employer and leading healthcare system in the region. While we are reluctant to see him go, his retirement is well-deserved, and the board is certain the caliber of the providers, staff and organization he has built will attract a top notch candidate to carry his legacy forward.”
