The rough road for Michigan’s Proposal 1 is coming to an end. On May 5, 2015 Michigan voters will reject better than 2 to 1, a failed effort to put the responsibility of fixing a road funding issue in the lap of the people.

It has been a bumpy ride for the Governor and lawmakers on both sides of the aisle as the proposal that includes a request for voters to voluntarily increase the sales tax has never gotten out of first gear. Supporters say it is imperative that it passes otherwise there will be no fix for state roads.

Well, thankfully this line of argument is coming to an end along with the misguided effort to stick us with higher taxes to fix the roads along the way.
