‘Fare Games’ Contest Winners Pho on the Block Opening Vietnamese Restaurant on Portage Road in Kalamazoo

Last summer, a group of community organizations held a contest for a prime piece of real estate on Portage Rd. in the Washington Square neighborhood. Winners were chosen and a Vietnamese "fusion" restaurant will open in May 5th at the location.MLive is reporting that Reggie Kaur and business partner Nancy Tien are opening Pho on the Block on May 5th. Pho is described as "modern Vietnamese cuisine with a twist," in the article.

Tien's restaurant experience is most recently in Toronto, where a friend who is chef to the Toronto Raptors, helped shape Pho's menu.

The Kalamazoo Land Bank, and partners are hoping Pho on the Block will be on the leading edge of a revitalization of the economically depressed area.
