Firefighters Battled a Major Fire at a Poultry Farm Near Ionia

According to WILX News 10, Your Breaking News and Weather Authority, firefighters battled a major fire at a poultry farm near Ionia late Tuesday into early Wednesday morning.

The fire started around 6 p.m. Tuesday on the property of Herbruck's Poultry Ranch.  The ranch is located on M-66 and Portland Road in Berlin Township.

Dispatchers say the fire began in a back barn and no reports of anyone being hurt.  In a statement released by Herbruck:

The company said, the one building that was damaged was partially occupied at the time of the fire and sadly none of the birds in this building survived.  We are deeply saddened by the loss of our birds.
