Full Steam Delight as Thomas the Tank Engine Returns to Michigan
The star of an iconic British television show is coming to the city that drives America as Thomas the Tank Engine visits Greenfield Village.
Kids love trains. Hogwarts Express might be close, but I'd say Thomas the Tank Engine is American kids' favorite British train. (Although Diagon Alley is a fantastic destination, Ringo Starr voicing Thomas in the early days tips it to Thomas.) The beloved steam engine has finalized plans for the annual trip to Michigan.
Every year, a real-life Thomas the Tank Engine steams into Dearborn and The Henry Ford's Greenfield Village. Passengers of all ages can climb aboard for a ride around the park and then a photo-op with Thomas. You can also meet the Director of the Railway, Sir Topham Hatt (ask the kiddos- he's a big deal). There are lots of other fun activities for kids and all the exhibits of Greenfield Village to take in for a whole day of family fun. You can watch Thomas on the roundabout in the 2016 YouTube video below.
