A charitable fund has been announced, named in honor of the former president of St. Julian Winery.

MLive reports that on Tuesday, the David Braganini “be nice.” Memorial Fund was announced, with the goal of bringing programs about mental health awareness to schools in Kalamazoo and Van Buren Counties.

David Braganini, president of the Paw Paw based winery, died of suicide on July 5, 2016; according to the fund’s website, despite his public persona, he dealt with severe depression.

The memorial fund is a cooperative effort between the Kalamazoo Community Foundation, the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan, and their "be nice." effort; "be nice." is a program the MHF run, that aims to promote awareness of the severe effects bullying and stigma can have.
