Well that was fast!  We really aren't that surprised that the Garth Brooks concert at US-23 Drive-In were selling incredibly fast.

Promoters said tickets for 50,000 cars nationwide were sold in two hours, accounting for an estimated 250,000 people making it a sell out for the day. Ticketmaster said 120,000 people were still waiting, which could mean another 500,000 fans with tickets going back on sale at noon on Saturday, June 20. Some  locations have in fact completely sold out already..

We announced the show just a few weeks ago and hype has been building since. With concerts pretty much a no-go this summer, and probably the year, music fan were eager to get a taste of heading to a big show.

Brooks will be performing a one night only event at 300 drive-in theaters across North America and includes 8 right here in Michigan. The special event will take place on June 27th with one show here at US-23 Drive-In.

Tickets went on sale at noon Friday through Ticketmaster. The price tag was $100 per car or truck. That's really not too bad considering.

Brooks had commented he was excited about the unique show. “I am so excited to get to play again. I have missed it so much and want to get back to it,” said Brooks. “This drive-in concert allows us all to get back to playing live music without the uncertainty of what would be the result to us as a community. This is old school, new school, and perfect for the time we are in.” The concept is being exclusively created just for the event on June 27th.
