Gas In Michigan About To Spike For 4th Of July

As is tradition, anytime there is a holiday where people are expected to travel, the gas prices start to rise. This year, AAA Michigan is estimating more than 1.6 million people from Michigan are are gonna be traveling 50 miles or more from home during the 4th of July holiday, which is about a 5 percent increase from last year, as Freep reports.

The expected rise in gas prices in Michigan should average to $3.05 around the holiday. That's 15 cents above the national gas price range according to GasBuddy, a fuel tracking website. The national average price per gallon is expected to be around $2.90. That is the highest the national average has been in 4 years.
