Stunning satellite photos from the National Weather Service show Michigan and the Great Lakes in the icy grip of Winter.

It looks like Old Man Winter gave Michigan a big high-five. February brought heavy snow to the Midwest and people dealt with it in many ways, from snow plow convoys to shoveling snow in a T-Rex costume, record-setting snowman building to temper tantrums.

This photo, shared by National Weather Service Grand Rapids on February 12 shows the clouds crossing Lake Michigan, snow blanketing the state and the icebound Great Lakes. The caption reports Lake Erie is 91% frozen and Lake Huron close behind at 81%. The lower half of Lake Michigan is liquid, crystallizing as you head for the Upper Peninsula (not pictured- rude!) with 51% total of the lake immobile.
