Cadillac has had a reputation for decades for setting the style of beauty and quality.  The good news for Michigan and Detroit, as reported by The Detroit Free Press, is that Cadillac is returning its global headquarters to metro Detroit after being in New York for the last 3 years.

Cadillac leaders said in a statement Wednesday that returning to Michigan will:

further support one of the most aggressive ongoing product expansions in the brand’s history.

General Motors plan is part of their vision they started four years ago as part of their $12 billion overhaul designed to help Cadillac compete in the luxury market globally.

General Motors believes this move will put the Cadillac team closer to the design and engineering experts working on the new cars, as well as purchasing and manufacturing personnel.

Currently their New York headquarters employs 140-150 workers, who I can assume will either be moved to the Detroit area or new people will be employed.

This is great news for the comeback of Detroit or at least the Detroit metropolitan area.
