Marijuana Extraction Facility Discovered Near Richland School
WWMT says that Richland Police were investigating a mobile home near Gull Lake Middle School, because they believed a marijuana growing operation was taking place. Inside the home, police found things like motor oil and butane gas, which led them to believe that the occupants were using the space to create hash oil.
Hash oil is a concentrated resin material, made by putting marijuana through an extraction process; its production can potentially be explosive. It typically contains a much larger amount of THC, the active chemical that gets you "high"; Hash oil use can potentially be harmful, particularly if solvents from its creation are consumed.
Police say they suspect five people were involved in this operation, although no arrests have been announced.
