Heavy Winds Cause Major Power Outage in West Michigan

Thousands of residents are without electricity in Kalamazoo, Kent and other counties in West Michigan.

West Michigan has a Wind Advisory in effect until 7PM this evening with wind gusts up to 50MPH.  That is more than likely why we are experiencing a huge power outage according to WWMT,

Kalamazoo - 2,556 customers

Van Buren - 427 customers

Allegan - 1,468 customers

Barry - 706 customers

Ottawa - 1,089 customers

Kent - 3,591 customers

Ionia - 211 customers

Branch - 33 customers

St. Joseph - 5 customers

Calhoun - 0 customers
