I was honored to be invited on the next Honor Flight Saturday taking WWII, Korean War and Vietnam veterans to Washington D.C. where they will visit Arlington National Cemetery, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, The WWII, FDR, MLK, Navy, Iwo Jima, and Air Force memorials.  In addition, this flight will also include Detroit Lions legends including Herman Moore and Lomas Brown.  My wife Karla and I were fortunate enough to go on our first Honor Flight back in June of 2016 and it was one of the most remarkable and emotional days of our life.

But what turned out to be the best part is something anyone in the area can be part of and that is the welcome home Saturday night at the Air Zoo.  This is where thousands line up for the parade of local veterans and we can thank them for their service.  We recommend that you get to the Air Zoo by 6:30 to get in place and don't forget the kleenex.  To find out more and to donate to this great cause go to talonsouthonorflight.org.
