Here’s Where You Can Watch Al Kaline In The 68 Series Games 6 & 7
As you may or may not know Baseball, The Tigers and the sports world lost one of the greats the other day as Mr. Tiger Al Kaline passed away at the age of 85. As we recalled he was the youngest American League batting champion in 1955 at the age of 20 when he hit .340. He was a 15-time all-star and won 10 gold gloves. And, of course, a World Series champion in 1968 which you can watch this week.
detroitnews.com is reporting that the MLB Network will air Games 6 and 7 of the 1968 World Series on Tuesday at 8 and 10 p.m. in honor of his passing. I don't want to be a spoiler but The Tigers defeated the St. Louis Cardinals in the series, 4-3. They hammered St. Louis, 13-1, in Game 6 to even the series 3-3. Kaline went 3-for-4, homering and driving in four runs. He was also hit by a pitch. In Game 7, the Tiger won 4-1 as Mickey Lolich out-dueled Bob Gibson and Jim Northrup knocked in two runs to give Detroit its first World Series championship in 23 years. Kaline went hitless in four at-bats but finished the postseason by hitting .379 (11-for-29) with two home runs and eight RBIs.
