Indiana Man Turns Test Drive Into Police Chase

You will not believe the wreckage of this stolen SUV.  Wow.

A tow truck came to pick up a 2011 Toyota Highlander after 28-year-old Aaron Wiley decided not to return it following his test drive.  When the tow truck driver attempted to recover the vehicle Wiley allegedly sped off, hitting the tow truck driver's assistant in the process.

That lead to an hour long police chase thru Bartholomew and Jackson counties in Indiana.  The police chase ended in a wide open field at a farm in Jonesville, IN.  By the time the SUV came to a stop it was completely destroyed.  All 4 tires were completely gone, the front bumper as well as part of the front corner panels were missing.  Not to mention all airbags were deployed.  The damage was due to continuing to drive at a high rate of speed after driving over several tire deflation devices deployed by the police.

Aaron Wiley was charged with:

• Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Injury (Class A Misdemeanor)
• Resisting Law Enforcement (Level 6 Felony)
• Criminal Recklessness (Class B Misdemeanor)
• Criminal Mischief (Class A Misdemeanor)
• Two Counts of Leaving the Scene of an Accident (Class B Misdemeanor)
• Intimidation (Level 6 Felony)
• Theft (Level 6 Felony)
• Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated-Endangerment (Class A Misdemeanor)
