Infant Dies In Two Vehicle Accident In Barry County

An infant has died following a two vehicle accident in Barry County.

Barry County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Eckert Road and Woodschool Road for a two car fatal crash.

The preliminary investigation showed the northbound vehicle, a 2001 Ford Taurus, disregarded the stop sign on Woodschool Road and was struck by an eastbound vehicle, a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban, traveling on Eckert Road.

The Ford Taurus was occupied by a 26 year old female driver and two 3 month old female children. One of the children was pronounced deceased at the scene. Both children were secured in car safety seats.

The crash remains under investigation. Names of those involved are being withheld at this time.

Assisting the Barry County Sheriff's Deputies were Freeport Fire Department, Mercy Ambulance, Thornapple Township Fire and Ambulance, Barry County Central Dispatch, and Aero Med.
