A man's joke about voting has lead to an investigation in Mason, Michigan.

A Michigan resident put a toilet in his front yard facing the road with a sign that reads "Place mail in ballots here."  Since it is a felony to take possession of an absentee ballot, according to the Democratic clerk of Ingham County Barb Byrum, the police are now investigating the situation.

I'm not going to assume this person's political affiliation and make judgement based on that.  I'll leave that for Facebook trolls.  Do I feel like it's a dumb joke?  Yes.  Does it warrant a police investigation?  God no.  If anyone is dumb enough to think a toilet in the front yard of someone's home is an actual drop off point for a ballot, they probably shouldn't be voting.  Ingham County doesn't agree with my opinion according to dailymail.co.uk,

Barb Byrum, the Democratic clerk of Ingham County, filed a complaint with police over the display, saying it could mislead people who aren't familiar with the voting system.

I can not stress enough, that I more than likely disagree with this person political matters.  However, investigating this as a crime seems petty and a waste of resources.

Famous philosopher Jim Carrey once said, "Just because you lost me as a friend doesn't mean you gained me as an enemy. I'm bigger than that. I still wanna see you eat, just not at my table."  I hope that we can one day get back to a place where we can disagree without being enemies.
