So, at the end of the day, the American citizens are the ones that are receiving all of the consequences from the tariffs.

Michigan has been feeling the pressure of these tariffs for months now as the automotive industry was one of the first affected by the tariffs. With manufacturing needs, vehicles, and other expenses rising, jobs were cut quickly. Now, there is another product that is expected to see a steep price hike due to the tariffs.

Independence Day is right around the corner and many people look forward to spending time with family, throwing some food on the grill, and ending the day with fireworks. While all of this is normal, there is a chance that some people will either purchase less fireworks or opt out of the tradition all together.

An overwhelming majority of firework products come from China, the new 35% tariff is pushing firework prices through the roof this year. Most firework sellers purchased products earlier than normal and will be able to offset the costs, but some will not. Next year, we are expected to see the full effect of the tariffs on fireworks in the summer of 2026.
