Michigan's cannabis tourism industry is starting to bloom, and that's great for our economy. The more people who come to visit the mitten to enjoy all of our sights, sounds, and apparently smoke, bring money to stimulate our local economies.

But people who want to visit Michigan and enjoy our legal cannabis come across one problem when it comes to cannabis tourism: Where can they consume?

Many hotels, AirB&Bs, and rented spaces have strict rules forbidding you from smoking (of any kind) which makes it hard to buy and try while you're visiting.

But a new first-of-its-kind cannabis lounge in Muskegon is aiming to alleviate that problem for people near and far who come to enjoy what they have to offer.

Just in time for the biggest cannabis holiday of the year, April 20th, IndiGrow is opening a legal outdoor marijuana consumption space next to their shop on West Clay in downtown Muskegon.

They're giving the outdoor recreation. a fun tongue-in-cheek name: The Bowl. Plans say that it will be completely out of public view with large berms and landscaping obscuring the inside from the road. The berms will be seeded with clover, and they say that additional landscaping is also planned in the future to make the area a little more obscured and enjoyable.

The Bowl will also have picnic tables, and other seating options as well as yard games you'll be able to play while you're hanging out.

If you want to help them kick off the opening of this space on 4/20, you'll be in for a bash. They will have fresh donuts from Morat's Bakery from 11a - 3p. (The first 50 people to show up will get a free donut!) Then, Papa Don's food truck will take over after that from 3p - 7p.

It looks like a great way to spend your 4/20, and you can follow their Facebook page for more updates.
