After nearly 21,000 votes, the results are in for the Southwest Michigan Favorite High School Marching Bands.

There's no life like band life.  Don't believe me?  Ask any member of a band family.  From playing the halftime of high school football and basketball to traveling around the state for band competitions, these students and their families sacrifice a lot.

Congrats to all of the high school marching bands that were nominated.  Below are the Top 5 Southwest Michigan Marching according to your votes.  Scroll below that to see the full poll results.

5 Favorite Southwest Michigan Marching Bands - 2022

#5 Bangor Vikings

The Vikings haven't seen the top 20 of this poll since 2020.  This year they come in swinging their axes and swords to grab the #5 spot with 7.13% of the vote.

#4 Thornapple Kellogg Trojans

Last year the Trojans received just over 4% of the vote to land inside the top 10.  That's not bad. But this year, they receive 7.56% of the vote to land in 4th place.

#3 Otsego Bulldogs

Last year the Otsego Bulldogs finished in 16th place with 1.7% of the vote.  This year they marched their way to 3rd place with 7.85% of the vote.

#2 Hastings Saxons

The Saxons had a respectable 9th-place finish in this poll in 2021.  However, they had quite a boost this year grabbing the #2 spot with 8.94% of the vote.

#1  Vicksburg Big Red Machine / Bulldogs

This is the third time in the last four years that the Vicksburg marching band has grabbed the top spot.  This year they squeaked by Hastings with 9.04% of the vote.

Jenison High School Marching Band Takes Third At Grand Nationals

"Spirits of the Canyon" was the theme as the Jenison Marching Band Performed At The Grand National Marching Band Competition At Lucas Oil Field In Indianapolis On Friday, November 12.

Then/Now - Southwestern Junior High School in Battle Creek

If you were to drive by the school today, you'd think it could reopen any day. But upon further investigation inside, it's clear this building may have seen its last days. Built in 1927, the building has sat empty since about 2009. Multiple fires, vandalism, and improper care have now left it to only hold bright memories where dark hallways and burned books now remain.
Voting will run from Tuesday, November 8th through Friday, November 18th at 6 AM.  One vote per person, per day, is permitted.  Any votes found to be from an IP changer, purchased from a third party, or placed outside of the midwest are subject to removal.  A third-party polling system will frequently run audits to identify and remove fraudulent votes.
