Another Popular WWMT Reporter Is Leaving, But Staying in News

It seems like over the past few years, the news stations in Kalamazoo have been a revolving door for reporters, but most, if not all of them have been leaving to move on to bigger and better things, which is exactly what you're supposed to do.

The latest to announce their leaving is Rachel Louise Just, who has been with WWMT for three years writing and reporting politics in southwest Michigan. But she has some plans ahead that she thinks we'll be excited for.

Just's last day on air will be Friday, Dec. 1st, and said in her goodbye post, "This period in Michigan will be referenced and written about for decades to come, and I'm grateful to have played a very small role in capturing it."

She worked closely with local and regional governments to bring us up-to-the-minute news, and really spoke well of her coworkers at WWMT.

"I believe this is one of the best legislative press corps in the country. I got to learn from true greats. The talent and dedication here has been a daily inspiration (just imagine what we could do if we had FOIA access!). Keep up the good fight my friends."

The reference to "FOIA" pertained to access to the Freedom of Information Act.

She continued...

"I really couldn't think of a much better group to battle through some tough times with than my coworkers at WWMT. Gifted, funny, kind: what a great group of people I get to call friends."

Just did announce that she will be staying in news, and is "out of my mind" excited for what's coming next.
