Saluti! E buona Salute! The people of Marshall have a reason to celebrate something new coming to town, and it promises to deliver something that the small southwest Michigan town claims to be missing - true, authentic Italian food!

In addition to a number of pizza joints, restaurants that have spaghetti on the menu, and Mancino's, Marshall will soon have a new pasta spot, called "Pasta Bella."

Not a lot of details are know at this time, but one post from a Marshall resident on facebook shows signage is now up at the location of the old Torti Taco in downtown, Marshall.

The links in the facebook post go to a sit-down Italian restaurant in Georgia with the same name, but it doesn't seem like the two share the same logo. This leads us to assume Marshall's latest Italian eatery is unaffiliated with the Georgia restaurant.

The few images we have of the restaurant's logo only give a brief description of the restaurant:L

"Pasta Bella uses fresh ingredients and classic recipes to bring delicious Italian cuisine to Marshall."

The verbiage leads us to believe that it's likely a locally-owned and operated business. In fact, members of the Marshall (MI) Community Facebook Page believe it is the same owners who run El Tajin Mexican Restaurant.

Other comments from residents on the same page group are excited for the store to open. One person even said waiting for Olive Garden in Battle Creek has become too long of a venture, so they'll be happy with a more local Italian restaurant.

It does appear that there is still some paper up in the windows of the restaurant, so some work is still going on, but hopefully the signage going up, and on the windows means they're close to opening.
