Grosse Point, Michigan To Be The Setting For New NBC Gardening-Murder Drama
The city of Grosse Pointe, Michigan is about to be the setting of a pilot that could spawn into a show on NBC called "Grosse Pointe Garden Society." This is one of many shows that have used Michigan as the setting for their shows or films.
Michigan has always had its share of stars and has been featured in shows like Ash Vs Evil Dead, Detroiters, Home Improvement, Martin, and many others have used various cities as the setting to their shows, and as Detroit Free Press describes, this new show should be very entertaining much like Michigan based show Good Girls, which is produced by the same team of Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs:
That series also was set in Michigan and starred Christina Hendricks, Retta, and Mae Whitman as three metro Detroit mothers who turn to crime when they become overwhelmed by money worries. Their robbery of a grocery store complicates their lives and plunges them into dangerous, potentially deadly predicaments they didn't foresee.
TheWrap details a small synopsis of the show:
Four members of a suburban garden club, all from different walks of life, get caught up in murder and mischief as they struggle to make their conventional lives bloom.
Grosse Point Graden Society isn't the first time a major production has used Grosse Point as the setting of a show or film, as Grosse Point Blank starring John Cusack also used the city as its setting.
There are SO many shows that have been based in Michigan. These are some you can do a deep dive into to get in the spirit of this new pilot...
