Inaugural Toy Run for Special Forces Brotherhood Motorcycle Club Is Sunday, October 13
Believe it or not, the holidays are fast approaching, and that means Christmas shopping should already be on some people's minds. I know, it's painful to start thinking about it in October. But for some, now is the PERFECT time to get it going, because the weather's still nice.
A new motorcycle club in the area, the special Forces Brotherhood MC, will be hosting their first ever toy run this Sunday, Oct. 13th, in southwest Michigan, and if I'm being told this correctly, it will be led by none other, than Santa Claus himself!

The Special Forces Brotherhood MC is made up of Army Green Berets who are retired, and at this time, based in northwest Ohio. However, they are expanding their group into parts of Indiana and southwest Michigan, which is where our guy John comes into the picture.
John Thayer is a Paw Paw native, and former Green Beret who will be spearheading the club's inaugural toy run, and said, while he's anxious to be out in front of the holiday season, he's excited to get it started for a good cause.
"We wanted to make sure we did this when the weather was still nice and we could ride without any issues."
Of course, with Santa Claus leading the charge on Sunday, too, the earlier the better, because he gets kind of busy the closer to Christmas you get.
The toy run will BEGIN at The Dock at Bayview in Richland off Gull Lake, with registration starting at 10 a.m. Riders are $20, and passengers are $10 apiece. However, if you bring an unwrapped present for a child, age 3-10, you will receive a registration discount. Santa will also be available to take photos with.
Once everyone is registered by noon, a raffle will be held for various prizes provided by the club, then it's kickstands up at 1 o'clock for the ride. There will be one pit stop at the American Legion, Post 45 on their trip, then it's on to Gun Lake Casino, where they will finish the run.
"Santa Claus wanted to hit them up, and the buffet, because they've got crab legs, and there's not a lot of crab legs at the North Pole. Santa's gonna take advantage of that while he's down here."
And for those wondering where their donations will go, SFBMC will donate the toys to Bronson Children's Hospital and Townsquare Media's "Stuff the Bus" event later this year. All monetary donations and registration fees will go toward the Special Forces Charitable Trust and Tunnel to Towers, which helps veterans and first responders, which was founded following the Sept. 11th attacks on the U.S.
