Did You Know There’s A S’mores Festival Happening In Battle Creek?
Winter is the time for comfort food and when it comes to sweets, the S'more is possibly one of the greatest creations to have been made. The one thing that's so amazing about it is you can make it your own. I usually make mine with a Reese's cup instead of a chocolate bar. But either way you like them, you can indulge in plenty at the Battle Creek S'mores Festival.
Horrocks Farm Market at 5801 Beckley Rd in Battle Creek just announced they'll be hosting the S'mores Festival, which may be one of the most dangerous things I've heard in a long time:

Where Do S'mores Come From?
While we may never know who created this amazing creation, as Food & Wine discusses, we DO know when it was first made public:
The first official recipe for a s'more came out in the 1927 Girl Scout guidebook, Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts. It says to toast the marshmallows to a "crispy, gooey state." Then, put the marshmallow on top of a chocolate bar and in between two graham crackers, and violà, you got a "Some More." It's unclear when the name was shortened to simply "s'more," but various Girl Scout publications referred to the treat as "Some More" until at least 1971.
