Michigan’s 15 Most “Out in the Middle of Nowhere” Towns
Michigan is made up of all kinds of communities, cities, towns and villages. Detroit is the biggest city in the state. Michigan also has numerous "out in the middle of nowhere towns". Let's spread the love for these towns.
By way of comparison the city of Macrotrend states that Detroit:
The metro area population of Detroit in 2022 was 3,521,000, a 0.25% decline from 2021.
Macrotrend says that Grand Rapids:
The metro area population of Grand Rapids in 2022 was 603,000, a 0.33% increase from 2021.
Lets talk about some of the small towns that have population "YOU". What about the towns that don't have a gas station? How about towns that have a gas station that also serves as the grocery store, liquor store and sometimes a veterinarian? These small towns are located everywhere in the U.P. and in the lower peninsula. These small towns are my favorite because they are isolated. I like my privacy.
I did a poll on my FB page and the results were impressive. Of course I had responses for small towns in mid Michigan like Perry, Laingsburg, Eaton Rapids, Onondaga and more. Alghough these towns are small, they just aren't "out in the middle of nowhere" towns. Growing up in a small town may make you feel like it's in the "middle of nowhere" but if you have a Speedway your doing ok. I did some research on the following towns and their populations, World Population Review, Michigan Demographics, Wikipedia, Point 2 provided stats.
