When it comes to rivalries, nothing compares to college sports, and nothing comes close to the long-running gridiron "feud " between the University of Michigan and Ohio State. Just ahead of the big game on Thanksgiving weekend, the long-standing football battle is set to be the focus of a new documentary.

Since the teams first took the field against each other in 1897 the rivalry has been intense. The teams have played annually since 1918 with  Michigan leading the legendary series 59–51–6. This weekend they will come together once again for the 118th time at Ohio State.

Just ahead of the big matchup, football fans can get an inside look into the mid-west rivalry in a new documentary titled RIVALS. The documentary, presented by Sinclair Broadcast Group and Tennis Channel Studios, explores sports life through rivalry.

The show includes interviews with past players, highlights such as the “Snow Bowl” in 1950, and of course infamous war between coaches Bo Schembechler and Woody Hayes that spanned 10 years. The documentary will also feature insights from those in the media who covered the rivalry over the years and sports historians as well.

Adding a little fan perspective is Oscar-winning actor J.K. Simmons. Serving as narrator for the 2-hour chronicle, Simmons was born in Michigan but is a die-hard Buckeyes fan.

You can catch RIVALS now on Tennis Channel and throughout November across the Bally Sports regional sports networks that included Bally Sports+, Marquee Sports Network, and YES Network. You can also watch it on select Sinclair broadcast stations. It will also air on the Big Ten Network Wednesday, November 23, at 11 p.m. and Thursday, November 24, at 8 p.m. ahead of the big game.
