Local Greyhound rescue, Second Chance For Greyhounds, needs your help to track down a pair of thieves who stole their trailer. Can you help?

On Monday afternoon, February 8 a staff member of Second Chance Greyhounds discovered that the trailer that the organization uses to transport equipment to events was stolen right from his driveway. Now, he is turning to the social media world in the area to help locate the person who stole the trailer.

Second Chance Greyhounds is a specialized rescue group that seeks to save and re-home retired greyhounds and operates out of Portage, Michigan. Typically, when a racing dog retires, they can come to an end through euthanasia. The group was started in 1990 and continues today to try and educate and promotion adoptions of these retired sport animals to give them a second chance at life.

Inside the trailer, it is understood that there was equipment that the organization uses at adoption or rescue events. It is unknown as to why this trailer was specifically taken. In the surveillance video that was taken you can see a white SUV with two men getting away with the trailer. The trailer that formerly has the organization's logo on it is assumed to have been painted, and authorities think it may be on its way out of town already.  An example of how the trailer may look now can be seen here.

If you have any information on this robbery, please contact local authorities. Spread the word and keep an eye out for the trailer!
