Authorities in Kalamazoo County are looking for a driver who fled the scene after striking and killing a pedestrian in Kalamazoo Township Wednesday evening. WWMT reports a man was walking on Gull Road near Borgess Hospital at around 6:00 when the vehicle came along and struck him. He was pronounced dead from his injuries and has not been identified.

Police and emergency responders had to shut down several lanes of Gull Road while investigating the incident. Kalamazoo Township police say that they are having trouble finding any leads because there is not much in the way of witnesses regarding the fatal hit and run. There isn’t a good description of the driver or the vehicle suspected in the crash.

Anyone who may have witnessed the accident or anything unusual in that area before the time of the crash is asked to contact Kalamazoo Township police or Silent Observor with any pertinent details.
