Kalamazoo Police Look For Driver In Hit & Run, 15-Year-Old Seriously Injured
Kalamazoo Public Safety officers are searching for the hit and run driver that seriously injured a 15-year-old girl last Friday.
On Friday, March 27 at 1:30 p.m., Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Officers responded to the 800 block of Reed Avenue for a report of a person down in the roadway. First arriving officers located a victim who had apparently been run over by a vehicle. The suspect vehicle fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival.
The victim, a 15-year-old girl from Kalamazoo, was unable to provide many details about the incident. She was transported to Bronson Hospital by ambulance where she was treated for serious injuries.
Investigating officers spoke with witnesses and reviewed security camera footage from the area, which showed the suspect vehicle running over the victim in the roadway. The suspect vehicle is a dark sedan, possibly a Hyundai Elantra. It was last seen leaving west on Reed Avenue. As of this time, the suspect has not been located or identified.
