Kalamazoo Valley Museum Discovery Series

Join the Kalamazoo Valley Museum as they host a Sunday Discovery Series beginning September 22nd. These free talks kick off at 1:30 each week, with the inaugural session being Mint to Be: A 150-Year Empire of Kalamazoo. Learn about the A.M. Todd Company from descendants and current employees and the game changing innovation to add mint to toothpaste for the first time ever, transforming a small leaf in to big business. A.M. Todd Company continues under a different name these days, Archer Daniels Midland, who continue research and development of new varieties of mint to help combat disease, develop standard farming practices, and research and utilize the plant in sensorial experiences.
