Lawton Family Needs Help After Unknown Person Shot Their Dog

A shocking moment has left a family confused and financially strapped.

Megan McCorry is asking for our help in a facebook post after a strange and tragic Tuesday evening,

Anyone who lives in my area please keep your ears open!! My pup, Cookie was shot in my backyard while my family was outside with her. She is currently at the emergency vet fighting for her life. We have filed a police report but am relying heavily on the community to help find who did this! Any information is helpful. 66th Ave in Lawton, 1/2 mile from the HS.

A later update says that the family dog Cookie is home and stable after a very expensive treatment.  Still not the preferred treatment according to the post,

Surgery was preferred treatment but not affordable so the next few weeks are vital to her recovery. She will be forced to live with the bullet in her lungs and we pray there are no further complications from this!!The treatment received already has placed a large financial burden on my family. Because of this my sister created a Go Fund Me page here, hesitant to post due to pride...but here it is...I do not expect any financial help and am SO thankful for all of the support received thus far. Cookie girl is so loved ❤️***

The emergency vet visit costed the family $2,000.  The surgery the dog needs would be an additional $6,000.  If you'd like to help this family a GoFundMe page has been set up.  As of early Monday Morning (9/30) they've only raised $541.
