Chicken wings are one of those foods where you're either gonna eat 3 or 20 and I can personally vouch for that. But who knew there was an annual festival for that in Michigan and why didn't anyone tell me? The festival is returning to Lansing in August on labor day Weekend.

According to their event page:

The Michigan Chicken Wing Festival is an annual event held Labor Day Weekend - Downtown Lansing. It's a staycation for those who do not want to travel on Labor Day Weekend and those wishing to explore Lansing, MI. The Michigan Chicken Wing Festival consists of 3 days of fun for all. Friday and Saturday will be filled with activities for the entire family, live music - Jazz, Blues, Pop, Rock, and R&B. Vendors, Kids Zone and Adult Zone - filled with Interactive & Carnival Games and Inflatables. Wing Tasting Contest on Friday and Saturday; with a winner announced on Sunday. The Wing Eating Contest on Saturday ONLY. VIP Beer & Wine Tent open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Sunday the park will be opening at the regular time, with a scheduled concert later that afternoon.

Chicken wing eating competition? I'm in trouble. This is an event I think would be the perfect end to the summer. They are allowing free admission for Kids 12 and under, Cancer Survivors and Seniors 65 and over. They are stating that you must purchase your wings and other food items from the various vendors inside the event. The fee to enter is $10 for each contest. A portion of the proceeds from the festival goes to Against All Odds Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)3 for breast cancer survivors.

So the question remains...who's gonna challenge me? I'm gonna have to train hard to take home the chicken wing title. Will you be attending this year?
